With A Humble Heart, Let God Have His Way “Humble yourselves, therefore under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.” 1 Peter 5:6-7 If you want to see God moving in your life, you’re going to have to get out of the way! I know, I know. You got this. You’re strong. You’re an independent woman. You’re self-sufficient and running things! But still, you realize that somehow your power and knowledge only go so far. Something is still missing from your life. So you invite Jesus in. You surrender your will to His and begin to walk the path. And it’s beautiful, but then it gets hard. You walk into some unfamiliar territory and you get scared. You realize that everything you knew up until this point no longer serves you. You get impatient, you question God, and you deviate from the path in an attempt to make things happen in your own time and in your own way. And it blows up in your face. Now you’re on your knees and you realize that you have stumbled and you have again put your will before His. But God is forgiving and as you cry out to Him, He hears you. Then He shows you that everything you were waiting and believing Him for was right there waiting for you the whole time. You see that He had delivered as He had promised. If you had just been a little more patient, a little more trusting, you would have seen it. And in that moment, you are humbled. God’s plan for us is good and He always has a fresh set of grace and forgiveness waiting for us on the other side of our mistakes. But what He desires is for us to avoid stumbling altogether. Once you lay down your will at His feet, do your best not to pick it back up. If we can just humble ourselves before we make a mistake, get out of the way, and allow Him to be the Lord over our lives, we will taste and see that the Lord is always good. He has that thing you’re hoping for waiting for you, right now, but allow Him to get it to you in His perfect timing. Humble yourself before Him and allow His will to guide you. Prayer: Father I humble myself before You today. I acknowledge that Your glorious plan is greater than mine. Forgive me for those times when I get impatient and trade my will for Yours. Help me and give me patience, wisdom, grace and understanding as I walk this path with You. Thank You for never leaving me, even when I stumble. In Jesus name, Amen.
