With all the rain and warm weather weve had lately, that means MOSQUITOS!!! Please make sure your pets are all current on their monthly heartworm preventative, as heartworms are transmitted via mosquito bites. Heartworms are so easy to prevent, but so expensive and sometimes difficult or dangerous to treat, especially as they have built up a resistance to the more mild treatments. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Left untreated, they can kill your dog. Heartworms are sadly very common in this area. This was the least unpleasant image that came up in a Google Image search for heartworms; if youre not easily grossed out, look them up. They are nasty! You DO NOT want them in your dog!!!
