With foresight the late great Bishop James F. Brown (53) and Bishop Olive C. Brown invited Dr. Myles Monroe, Sr. (60) a newcomer but EXPLODING on the scene to teach and preach at the MSCOA Southern District Convention in Richmond, VA convening at the John Marshall Hotel, I think 1986? My little son Stanley Jr. was hanging with his Dad and Mom at and early rehearsal with Pastor John Key. Later that day Dr. Monroe wanted to meet with the organist and demanded a grand piano. To our surprise he commences to play and sing How Great Thou Art- in C and a medley of praise songs. WOW we were jamming with the “preacher” for the night. He later asked me, “Do you always let these kids sit and gather around the front like this, I like that? I’m gonna try that when I get home” Yes we do I said. Today many of those “kids” are productive citizenry, pastors, parents, entrepreneurs etc. Then he preached CHALLENGING EVERYTHING to be bigger and better from your perspective on GOD, to your account to the convention itself. The audacity of the young man…but he was dead on. Incredible WORD!!! “The value of life is not in its duration, but in its donation. You are not important because of how long you live, you are important because of how effective you live. And most people are concerned about growing old rather than being effective,” he said in 2003. “The people who have impacted the world didn’t live long. Martin Luther King, Jr. (39). John F. Kennedy (46). These people who impact the world were not old people, but they lived so effectively that we cannot erase them from history.” My first time to see a preacher selling tapes and books professionally mastered. The Bishops spoke into his life and ordered his journey prophetically. To his amazement the rhema was dead on and he acknowledges it. I guess the lesson is you never know with whom you are sharing with. Furthermore they don’t know with whom they are sharing with either. So make your mark today as the dash is getting shorter and shorter. Lastly if GOD has made greatness available to all then it may as well spill out of YOU. Generals are lost …and MADE everyday I send this to me first…
