With over 6.3 million passengers trips made each day on our public transport system, even the smallest disruption can impact the travelling experience of hundreds of thousands of commuters. That’s why we’re working on making Singapore’s public transport system more people-centred and more intelligent. We’re pleased to announce that we’re collaborating with IBM, Starhub and SMRT to create a Fusion AnalyticS for public Transport Emergency Response (FASTER) blueprint which will enable us and the public transport operators to better manage public transport incidents. By combining farecard data and information, video data from MRT stations and anonymized telecommunications data for aggregate-level mobility analysis, we’ll have a 360-degree view of incidents, which allows us to respond better to commuters’ needs.
