Wobbling Womble from Who-knows-where! Andy Womble, aka Andy - TopicsExpress

Wobbling Womble from Who-knows-where! Andy Womble, aka Andy Wobble, is running for District Attorney – if he doesnt change his mind. Andy apparently suffers from a disability that makes it difficult for him to stick with decisions. The onset of the disability first appeared around February 2013 when District Attorney Frank Parrish began wondering aloud if he would run again or retire in 2014 after serving in that role for 20 years. It was assumed that fellow Democrat Assistant District Attorney Nancy Lamb would run for the seat. About that time, Andy, a life-long Democrat, changed to Unaffiliated. He did that in his hometown of Plymouth. Several years ago, when he was appointed chief public defender for the First Judicial District, he was supposed move into the district but never decided to do so. Three days after Parrish died, in September 2013, “Wobble” became a Republican, again at the Board of Elections in Plymouth. Later that week,he attended Parrishs funeral and made known his intentions to seek the vacated seat. And with a GOP-controlled state government, he was appointed to fill out Parrishs term – but still had not yet decided to live in the district. In the waning days of 2013, “Wobble” changed his voting registration to Dare County and provided a Nags Head address. The first letter mailed to him was returned to Board of Elections. Oops! The second found its way to him....wherever he might have been. Perhaps he hadnt decided yet whether to actually spend time in his new abode. Dare County Democrats are a friendly bunch so decided to call on him at his new home to welcome him to the Outer Banks. But several attempts were unsuccessful. Perhaps “Wobble” hadnt yet decided to move into the property he apparently rented from one of his relatives. The welcome party tried to leave a message for him with the neighbors but the response was “Andy Who?” Election filing season opened and “Wobble” filed to run. Being good sports, Dems tried again to contact him but the only phone number for him that could be found was … are you ready for this? Plymouth! Where the answering machine message recorded by “Wobble” said just to leave a message and he would return the call. A message wasnt left because surely he didnt really live there, right? To file to run for district attorney, a candidate must be a resident of the district for a prescribed number of days before the filing so surely Wobble lived in Nags Head... And now, before weve even had a chance to get to know him, he has changed his address and voter registration again - this time to Edenton. So Dems will watch and listen and see if he can bring himself to make the decision to stay at his new home. Googling didnt produce any theories or cures for his disability so the only thing for certain is that Womble wobbles.
