Wollondilly Advertiser Your say Oct. 22, 2013 Meeting a waste On Monday, October 14, I attended the Wollondilly community forum meeting in the newly refurbished foyer at the council. I provided written notice of my questions and went to the trouble of attending the meeting to ask the questions as required by the rules. One question requested updated information on the Remembrance Drive, Tahmoor zebra crossing and another question requested information on the composition of the Australia Day committee. The general manager couldnt give me an answer to a single question and said he would respond in writing. It was a waste of time going to the meeting. Above my head where I sat is a newly positioned brass plaque. It reads: The Customer Service Centre was officially opened by the Mayor of Wollondilly Shire Council Cr Col Mitchell on August 12, 2013. Deputy Mayor Benn Banasik, Cr Lou Amato, Cr Michael Banasik, Cr Hilton Gibbs, Cr Judith Hannan, Cr Simon Landow, Cr Ray Law and Cr Kate Terry. Les McMahon general manager. I dont know of any other council that has immortalised itself with a brass plaque following a fresh coat of paint and new carpet at ratepayers expense. Lynette Styles.
