Women participation in politics in The Gambia is on the cusp of significant progress. Many women campaign organisers (Yayi Compins) drawn from all the political parties in The Gambia - APRC, UDP, NRP, PDOIS and PPP, yes PPP are alive and kicking - are taking part in a workshop for women to take part in politics. As Gambians go to the polls to elect a president in 2016, the ground is being prepared by Civic Education Council for a misunderstanding - free election. Election is a process, not an event.
