Wonderful evening with a very hospitable couple ...Neeta & Vijay Chopra . Heard some amazing war stories from him & Veerpal Singh .... Who incidentally was Abdos classmate from Sanawar ! Both these now retd Brigadiers fought the tough battle of Chhamb & gave a vivid & touching account of the Battle . Amazing recall . What is even more touching is how even till today they feel the loss of their friends & fallen comrades , who died , leaving behind infant children & young brides ! They fought to the last man with unbelievable courage ! The soldier deserves nothing but respect ...What is even more difficult to believe , is how much respect even the enemy has for each others warriors & the excitement from across the LOC for the book being written by Abdo . Several of them have sent their side of the story to him & it is fascinating how much respect & co operation they have given to the son of our opposing GOC who fought a hard battle ... Their words , not mine ! At the end of the day ... A soldier is a soldier ... All sacrificing their lives for their nation . Waiting for the book release ....
