Wondering in this post-Halloween rush for the Christmas shopping - TopicsExpress

Wondering in this post-Halloween rush for the Christmas shopping dollar, how much Disney has made this year selling princess costumes from Frozen. I get that a story in a drab contemporary setting doesnt make for cool rides and souvenir sales at Disney World. I also get that kids need symbols of hope and courage to inspire them. But when will Disney give us more stories of ordinary NON-royalty kids, both girls and boys, overcoming challenges in their lives? When will they give us films that show what young men and women can really do to change the world - and themselves? A handful of humans become princes and princesses. And not because they one day put on a crown or tiara, and a costume. The lucky few just happen to be born into royalty. The rest of us are born with the same intelligence, the same dreams, and a lot more challenges. Show us some real magic, Disney, and give boys and girls around the world something meaningful and transformative. Something more than a holiday costume and cheap souvenir.
