Words are not mere words... They were never meant to be. They are not just passing sounds that can be ignored like the howling of the wind. Words can build, words can pull down. Words can create and words can destroy. Words do not just jump out of your mouth, but they are a direct indication of what is in your heart. For out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks! (Matthew 12:34). Words determine your character. As you go about your day, choose your words carefully. Think about the impact of the sounds you are about to make. Remember that reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. (Proverbs 12:18). What are you going to say about someone today? What are you going to say to the people you will meet today? Say something positive. Encourage someone and change a life. One word can make the whole difference between life and death.
