Wow, I have always liked the look of the flocked Christmas trees. I have always had some kind of garland or something on a tree to make it look like it was snow covered. Also we are picky about lights... we dont like the clear or white lights - we like them to be colorful. So I have been looking at unlit or multi color pre-lit trees. Frank & I went to KMart today & Target yesterday to look at some of the trees on sale (KMart has up to 60% off online orders thru today) and I have watching ads in craigslist. Found an ad in craigslist for a flocked & color coded branch tree, which means the branches are separate from the center pole... no hinged branches !! It is an older tree (lady said her Mom used to use it - so I am guessing it is at least 30 yrs old) - and in really nice condition!! Still in original box - $20.!! Couldnt pass it up!! We will be putting tree up tomorrow after dinner. Then I get to put all the lights on....LOTS of lights. I will be putting some of my decorations in the garage sale (the store -bought ones only). This tree is smaller than I had wanted.... but it has history like something my Grandma would have had.
