Wow... It was this very time 14 years ago when my water broke, and as a very young 17 year old I was confused what was taking place. It didnt happen like in the books and articles I read. My physical body was ready, but was I? Your grandma and I walked the neighborhood hoping for confirmation, and after realizing it was in fact that time my contractions began. I will never forget that long and painful elevator ride up to the l&d floor... Would I be good enough for this life I have created? Will this little being ever know how much I love her even before our eyes meet? Can I do this? The pain was nothing compared to my doubts. It was time to push... After the long and stressful night we all waited in suspense. We held our breath until we heard your cry, and it was THE absolute most beautiful sound! It was in that moment you completely stole my heart, and my life had truly begun. You were in my arms and that was the second safest place I had to offer. It was time.. I had to share you with the many others who awaited your arrival... Emotion overload! The amount of joy in that room was contagious (even your doctor shed a few tears). And our love for you has only grown just as you have. Not only do we get to celebrate your birth into this crazy world, we celebrate our anniversary! It has been a hard, beautiful, and painful ride for us both, but I am doing my best. I only hope you are as proud of me as I am of you. Everything happens for a reason babycakes, and I was placed here to love you. Never forget that! I love you so much more than words can say, and thank you for choosing me! Taylor Scatliffe
