Wow... So this conservative hatred of soccer is a real thing? lol Why am I only recently hearing about this? Have they always hated soccer? Sorry, I couldnt help but read Anne Coulters rant against soccer... none of it makes any sense. You dont use your hands... individual achievements arent as important as team effort... nobody ever gets seriously injured... the rest of the world likes it. These are the reasons given? I thought that not getting a concussion and learning the value of teamwork were positive things. Silly me! Its fairly simple. Some people fear/hate anything that isnt home grown. I have never quite understood why some of us approach such things with curiosity while others approach them with fear and loathing. I literally started watching soccer out of curiosity about 5 years ago. Kept reading about the world cup and wondered if it was really that exciting, so I decided to start reading about it and check it out. And it was actually pretty good. Whats wrong with that? Whats so un-American about that? I saw something, enjoyed it, so I watched it. Am I missing something here? I dont care about Anne. She does this shit just to stir the pot. Im happy to oblige her because, like most of these sorts of publicity stunts, they do more harm than good for the intended cause. Making national headlines for an outrageous article posted under the guise of conservative values mostly serves to give real conservatives a bad name and make them seem irrational and crazy. Its like preaching to the choir; sure youre going to become more popular with your target audience, but for the rest of the population, youre just painting yourself into a smaller, crazier corner... which is okay by me. Same shit McCain/Palin tried to do in 2008 and the entire cast of GOP primary candidates tried to do in 2012. If the end game is to be the most popular person among nutballs, Im more than happy to help you achieve that title. All hail the queen!!!
