Shows another aspect of the humanity of war - how sometimes the warriors on the opposing sides know that the people theyre killing are just human beings like themselves with families, hopes and dreams. Ive heard of similar scenarios from the American Civil War, as well as the modern conflict between the Israelis and Palestinians. Every time I watch a war movie (and I love a good war movie), I always say God, why?! I know the answer. But still, its so heart breaking to see people who, apart from political inciting, would probably be friends, slaughter each other in war - and often times over fairly trivial things.
