Wow! We have a growing boy on our hands. Graham weighs 3lbs 14oz. WOohoo!! They stopped his Caffeine on Saturday and over the next few days as the Caffeine leaves his system we will see how his body responds. He hasnt had any apnea so far (The Caffeine helps to remind his body to breath. Sometimes his body forgets because he is still suppose to be in Mommys belly and she is supposed to be doing all that for him). He is slowly transitioning to a different Fortifier. Originally Mommys Milk was being amped up with a Fortifier made from Human Breast Milk. Now that he is 34 weeks they are transitioning Graham to a Fortifier made from Cows Milk. Graham Man doesnt like it too much and it smells yucky but its better than Formula! HA. He is doing SUPER at bottle feeding. He usually takes about half or more of his feeding each time he is bottled fed. Were still getting the hang of Nursing but its hard work for his little body. He understands the concepts and its just matter of time as he grows and gets bigger before he conquers Nursing. He is doing very good with having his bed open all the time and has regulated his temperature fine all by himself. We couldnt ask for better progression from him. Continued Prayers for health, healing, strength and progress. Were in awe of the work God continues to do for our Family all because of YOUR prayers. Thank you! I cant believe on Tuesday Graham will be a Month old. Where has the time gone? I can now recall with fervent detail the night he was born. Things have seemed to settle and weve gathered a routine for ourselves and our lives. This has allowed us to somewhat process the trauma thats ensued in the last Month. Ive come to learn to stop asking, Why? Why did God choose to save our Baby? Why did Graham recover but their Baby didnt? Why is Graham getting better but the Baby down the hall from us in the NICU is not? Why us? But who am I to question God? Our feeble minds lack all capacity to understand His work. My job in my Faith is to FOLLOW His plan, abiding to all He has laid out before me. Not to question it. I have yet to understand the reasoning for why God put us on this journey and pushed us down this path. But I am confident one day it will all make sense. In the words of Mark Twain, The two most important days in your life are the day you are born, and the day you find out why? I cant wait to see what He has in store for Graham Harris Tomson. We LOVE YOU SO MUCH!
