Wow. What a great night for Heather in her first ever beauty pageant. The National American Miss pageant at the Marriot in downtown Indianapolis. Photos to follow, as there was a camera snafu and we had to have friends take photos with their cameras. There were 79 girls in Heathers age group competing. She won one of 10 Spirit of America awards (I dont recall exactly what that was for - had something to do with those contestants who give extra effort by being involved in extra activities during the pageant weekend). Then won the most photogenic award! (which carried some prize money). Next she won 2nd runner up in the top model category. We were then thrilled as she received a rose when they called her name as a top 15 finalist. She didnt make it in to the final 5 or win the pageant, but just a terrific evening for her. We are very proud of all she accomplished! Some pictures will be posted soon. A very professionally and respectfully run pageant and not anything like the reality shows like Toddlers in Teiras, etc. seen on TV. Fantastic job Heather!
