Wow, a shower! What an amazing luxury! After not having running - TopicsExpress

Wow, a shower! What an amazing luxury! After not having running water on my body for a week and half, that was the best feeling ever. Dont get me wrong, I was clean, washed every day, but a wash cloth cleaning doesnt compare to a nice warm shower. I just stood there with the water running on me for the longest time. It was also the big unveiling to my husband. He wasnt able to be at my first appointment yesterday, so he hadnt yet seen the new landscape that is my chest. It is starting to bruise, so that added color and confusion to what is going on. I couldnt quite get a read on him, so Im not sure just how freaked out he was. I feel like hes trying hard to be okay with everything. Maybe he is, I wont know for sure because hes not going to let me know if it bothers him. These are the times when I get emotional, when Eric is involved. I feel like this isnt fair to him. We are newlyweds. Were supposed to be enjoying our new lives together, not sleeping separately so that I can be propped up with pillows and ice bags that he has become faithful in filling. He has slid into the caretaker role effortlessly and he is an amazing blessing! I just want to get back to husband and wife, not patient and caretaker. The one good takeaway today came after the shower, when I was standing there looking at my whole self in the full length mirror. What I realized is that the rest of this almost 45 year old, in three days, body is holding up pretty good. Im not at all upset with the way everything else is looking. When the rest of me gets fixed up, watch out!
