Wow... so it seems that my post about not liking to network to get clients got quite a response. We received a LOT of private messages about this, both good and bad. So heres WHY networking is the last thing Id personally ever do to attract more new clients: (1) It involves YOUR time each time you want to grow your business. (2) Youre restricted to attracting clients in YOUR location. (3) You cant easily scale up your client attraction without YOU doing more work. (4) I personally like to meet people... to erm, meet people... rather than having a hidden agenda that MAYBE theyll be a potential client. The horror! Now let me tell you how I attract multi 6-figures worth of clients each MONTH without ever leaving my house: (1) I create a killer presentation (can be a webinar or a video) that solves a specific problem that a specific set of people are having. (2) This presentations provides amazing value AND offers the opportunity to apply to work with our company. (3) We then ADVERTISE this presentation 24/7, 365 days a year so that our idea clients can enjoy it (NOTE: once this is setup there is no more work for me to do). Heres why I prefer this model, and why I feel a little queasy at the thought of networking for clients: (1) Clients come to ME, rather than me chasing THEM. (2) My system is SCALABLE - want more clients? No problem! Just turn up the volume and spend more on advertising. (3) I can attract clients from all around the world without ever being away from my family for even one night (playing football in the garden with my son is more exciting to me than being force fed airline meals!). (4) I get to pick and choose who I want to work with due to an ABUNDANCE of potential clients. (5) Its fun to create systems that bring clients to you whenever you need them. No more feast or famine! BOTTOM LINE: if you want to learn how to generate an extra 3 or 4 clients a month by becoming a Networking master.... then Im not your guy. Also, if youre stuck (and wont change!) with the limiting belief that business success needs to be slow and needs to be earned, and that you need to do the groundwork and earn your dues, then again, I definitely cant be of service. Sorry. But if youre ready for rapid growth and you want to enjoy 6-figure months while your SYSTEMS do the work of bringing you high paying clients each day, then shoot me a message and lets see if we can help! :)
