Wow, that was a mouthful, maa-shaa Allah. A couple of points: one of the dangers of these quasi-Sunni extremist groups is that they carry out punishments that they are not sanctioned to do according to the Sacred Law. This does not mean that the punishments of the Sacred Law are unjust--after all, the rights that we have come from the Creator of humanity and not from the humans themselves. And the link calls the guy a saint. A saint he is not, but we can ask Allah that he be guided to know the Truth about his Lord and follow the path of Islam.
