Writing Tip #27: Lost in time and space If you’re like me, you are get so deeply writing your book’s first draft that you lose track of time—both yours and your characters. Regardless of how much or how little I outline, there comes a point when near the middle of my first draft when I realize that I don’t know what day it is in my fictional world. When that happens, I know that it’s time to construct a timeline.
