YEARS AGO, when visiting WORD OF FAITH CHRISTIAN CENTER in DETROIT, I heard PASTOR KEITH BUTLER say this.....I didnt take proper HEED......but I never forgot this inherent truth. He said (with regard to relationships) Instead of looking for the right partner, we should BE THE RIGHT PARTNER Twice Married Brother FaceBook Peeve: All these Relationship Cards or sayings which speak of getting rid of folk or the Next will be better than the EX.....you know the ones. WELL. Ill concede that we have gotten rid of partners who werent good for us and/or extracted ourselves from bad relationship partners......but for the MOST PART? When we dont IMPROVE OURSELVES, WE NEVER IMPROVE OUR RELATIONSHIPS....no matter who the next is. Generally speaking, we should have gotten our ACT TOGETHER with WHO WE WERE WITH because we have to do the work ANYWAY. TRADING UP is overrated. We dont always have control over these things and we cant MAKE FOLK stay with us.....but its interesting to watch all US broken folk pass the buck for our failed relationships ONTO OUR PARTNERS. #LetUsGrowUp #StopBeingAVictim #OwnWhatYouBring
