YESTERDAY I found out how precious human life is, as I reached an intersection in PEAK hour traffic in Canberra, I looked both ways before crossing. I saw nothing and then proceeded to take off, 10 seconds later a motor bike came out of my blind spot and smacked into the bonnet of my car, the motor bike rider came off his bike and rolled 3 meters down the road, I screamed and screamed and feel into a trance as my man jumped out of the car, then I was pulled out of my car. I sat on the corner of the road whilst the ambulance came and a perfect stranger comforted me along with my man. Two minutes later I was told the bike rider was okay and only had a minor leg injury and that because I stopped at the intersection both of our lives were spared along with my passenger. NO ONE WAS AT FAULT. The person in front of me sped through an orange light if id have done the same wed both be dead. SPEEDING KILLS, it is because I dont speed that no one was seriously hurt. I will continue to do the SPEED LIMIT and stop at any blind corner at a give way sign no matter where I am- and if no body likes it, well then thats just their bad luck!!!! The impact was a maximum of 3 Kms per hour, his bike was destroyed and my car is only scratched. Follow the rules and the chances of injury are drastically reduced- I AM HERE TODAY BECAUSE I FOLLOW THE RULES.
