YETUNDE (A Story you must READ) For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believed him should not perish but have evalasting life. John 3:16. A popular scripture you may say but here lies the summary of man’s existence today. I would like you to read this story and tell yourself the truth. Yetunde was the happiest person on earth when Mr. Sunday came to propose to her at the orphanage. This was the only time she knew real happiness since her parent died in a tragic motor accident many years ago, and she was adopted by the orphanage. Yetunde accepted the proposal and she became Mrs Sunday before long. Life was pleasant until tragedy struck again. She came back from the market one day and received a note to come to the hospital to identify the corpse of one Mr. Sunday. She rushed to the hospital and of no doubt, it was her husband. She cried until she could cry no more. His relatives seized the opportunity to send her out of her husband’s house. She was left alone to face life with her unborn baby, for she was pregnant. When the time of delivery came she gave birth to a baby boy. One day, Yetunde was washing her baby’s cloth at a public tap when her neighbours rushed to tell her that, her house was on fire. She rushed down to her house, defiles the flames and save her baby but not without burns all over her body. Yetunde continued to suffer humiliation, disappointments, disgrace, and incarcerations all because she wanted to give her baby sound education. She patched and mended her old wrappers until she became a laughing stock on the road. Whenever she passed children mocked her. At times she felt like giving up but her only consolation was that her boy will one day turn her mourning to joy. The boy graduated from school and started a business in one of the northern states. God blessed him so much and he prospered. It was time to say thank you to mummy. Yetunde waited for four years without receiving even a letter from her boy, she became worried and despite her sickness she decided to go and see her son. She got to her son’s house covered from head to toe with dust and looked so much like a beggar she knocked and a young girl came out. She asked for her son, and the girl looked scornfully at her but she went in to tell her master that there was a beggar outside that wants to see him. The boy came out only to ask the gateman to push his mother out of his compound. How do you feel about this story? You might be doing the same thing to Jesus can you hear him calling on you. I think it’s time to answer. He was disgraced and humiliated that you might be saved. God bless you as you think about this.
