YOU MUST READ THIS EXPOSÉ! A REAL-LIFE LESSON IN THE REALITY OF THE TEMPLE MOUNT: PROPAGANDA, DISTORTION AND LIES On Sunday, January 18th, we posted the following story here on the Temple Institutes Facebook Page, under the title, Jews and Sunshine on the Temple Mount. Indeed, it was a happy and heartwarming news brief: Rabbi Chaim Richman of the Temple Institute had the privilege today of guiding nine Jewish American college graduates on the Temple Mount. The nine graduates are taking part in a one year program teaching English to Israeli students. Their morning on the Temple Mount was blessed with a break in the winter weather with clear skies and a bright sun overhead. During their visit, one of the students asked the rabbi why Muslims were photographing them. He took the rabbis response with a grain of salt, but was shocked to find out later that day that the rabbis response was 100% accurate…unbelievably and chillingly accurate. The popular Israel daily newspaper, Yisrael Hayom (Israel Today), picks up the story from here: TEMPLE MOUNT TOURISTS UNWITTINGLY FEATURED IN PALESTINIAN PROPAGANDA Israel Hayom Tuesday January 20, 2015 by Yori Yalon An innocent photo of a group of young Canadians and Americans visiting the Temple Mount was used in a false accusatory article on a Palestinian website, indicating that the visitors had stormed Al-Aqsa mosque. Geoffrey Zalter, 23, came to Israel on a MASA teaching fellows program (a joint project of the Israeli government and the Jewish Agency that brings young Jews to Israel) to teach English for a year. He went to the Temple Mount last week and was photographed there with a group of his friends from the program by several Palestinians. He was later shocked to see a photograph of the group on a Palestinian website that distributes false propaganda against Israel. The picture appeared on the website Palestinian Information Center alongside an article containing a slew of false information, including that a group of Jews had stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque and tried to fly a drone over it twice. I visited the Temple Mount with some friends, so that I can see the Al-Aqsa mosque from close up, and so that I could appreciate the history of this part of the world in more depth, Zalter wrote in a Facebook post about the incident. Palestinian men and women were praising Allah (directed at us, with the intent to make us feel uncomfortable), yelling at us and taking pictures. Zalter explained that he didnt understand why the Palestinians were taking pictures, and his group leader [Rabbi Richman - TI] suggested that they would likely post the photos on one of their websites, claiming a group of Jews had stormed the mosque. (english.palinfo/site/pages/details.aspx?itemid=69699#.VLv6_upcpss.facebook) Well, that is exactly what happened, Zalter wrote. Not for one moment did any of my friends or myself show any hostility towards anyone there. However, this extremist website claims we stormed the mount and that we attempted to fly a drone over the mosque twice. He went on to write, Im sharing this because I feel it is important for people to see that these doctored photos and false reporting is real. There was an utter hatred towards me from so many people there, and no one knew anything about me. Speaking to Israel Hayom, Zalter said, I was in complete shock from the behavior of the people on the Temple Mount and from the false report. I had heard about false reports against Israel and Jewish people in the Palestinian media before, and now I see they really exist. Geoffrey Zalter posted the following message on his own Facebook page: I usually shy away from posting political views on Facebook, but in this situation I feel compelled to share my thoughts. Today, I visited the Temple Mount with some friends, so that I can see the Al-Aqsa mosque from close up, and so that I could appreciate the history of this part of the world in more depth. While I was there, Palestinian men and women were praising Allah (directed at us, with the intent to make us feel uncomfortable), yelling at us, and taking pictures. Due to their clear aversion towards us, a security detail was provided to ensure our safety while we toured the Temple Mount area. When one of my friends asked, what are they going to do with these pictures, the rabbi leading us responded that they will post something along the lines of Jews stormed the mosque. Well, that is exactly what happened. Not for one moment did any of my friends, or myself show any hostility towards anyone there. However this extremist website claims we stormed the mount and that we attempted to fly a drone over the mosque twice. The website is here: english.palinfo/site/pages/details.aspx?itemid=69699#.VLv6_upcpss.facebook However, the most powerful moment for me was when a child yelled from a window Allahu Akbar at us. Im sharing this because I feel it is important for people to see that these doctored photos, and false reporting is real. There was an utter hatred towards me from so many people there, and no one knew anything about me. This was reporting that was done from an extremist. I find it important to note that for my next statement. Rather than educating our children from birth, to hate and despise the other, we need to do a better job of understanding one another and share an appreciation for the other. In schools, we preach individuality and to be yourself, and thats okay. It doesnt mean you need to hate other people for not being you. My final thought...I am a human, and as such I love all humans, and hope for the best for every single person in this world; but this type of education and reporting is cruel and total nonsense, and will only make peace less and less attainable for the Middle East. Anyone feel free to share this post, as I think it makes a big difference to see these kinds of articles written about people you know.
