YOUD GIVE 10% OF FOUND MONEY WOULDNT YOU? As an accountant Mary Haise was comfortable with numbers. And, she understood the principal of tithing; give ten percent of what you have to others in need, you will be blessed. WHAT WAS a NEW concept was the little box at the bottom of the church form that said, “Check here to tithe UNEXPECTED INCOME.” She’d never heard of that. She thought about it. Then reasoned ... okay, if I suddenly win the lottery, I would commit to giving back 10 percent of my winnings to the church. Yeah. That’s fair enough. HOW MUCH UNEXPECTED INCOME would I like to EXPECT, she playfully thought. “Oh … FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS,” she answered out loud … chuckling … as her mind drifted to that little retirement condo she recently saw. Exactly three days later, an envelope was in the mail from a broker who handled stocks in her father’s will. Those stocks were thought to be WORTHLESS. BUT, Mary jumped for JOY when she read that the stocks were SUDDENLY WORTH…$50,000. Exactly! Wahoo! She could hardly keep a smile off her face the following Sunday as she secretly slipped an envelop into the offering basket … containing her 10% tithe on UNEXPECTED INCOME … a check for FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS. But … as God usually does … He gave Mary another UNEXPECTED turn of events. The pastor was speaking … saying the church had an UNEXPECTED construction expense … they needed Five thousand dollars. Gulp. Isn’t it marvelous how God uses godwinks to help ALL of us to get us divinely aligned. •••• Here’s what YOU can expect: When YOU tithe in accordance with ancient spiritual law … you CAN expect blessings, often in the form of godwinks.
