YOUTH GIRLS GRAND FINAL PREVIEW: Division 1 Grand final; Beaconsfield vs. Cranbourne. These two teams will go head to head in what is certain to be a quality game of football, both teams epitomised the best team for the season in their lead up games, Cranbourne had the longer road after finished 3rd on the ladder which meant they had to fight their way through two games to get this opportunity. Although that is a great fight through the final series Cranbourne isn’t a team shy of the finals, they’re going for their 4th consecutive premiership, with Beaconsfield on the other hand playing their second season in the competition. With both teams being inexperienced it shapes up as a battle of the future, Beaconsfield being a completely new team have had to develop their culture and skills from scratch. Their dramatic turnaround from last year could be considerably targeted at the new faces around the club, along with their impressive lift in team spirit and courtship throughout the year. While Cranbourne are the team labelled as experienced because of their past within the competition, this year they’ve had to deal with losing over 8 of their top age players, they’ve dealt with a long list of injuries and have also dealt with a team full of new inexperienced girls, playing the game with passion. Division 2 Grand final; Narre Warren vs. Hampton Park. This game is surrounded by controversy, Narre Warren has been the best team all year and has gone through their finals campaign undefeated, while Hampton Park lost their preliminary final but due to a head count, as a result Hallam were stripped of their win and Hampton Park has moved into the Grand Final. Although Narre Warren will head into the game as favourites with their prestige record of wins throughout the year, anything could happen with the passion a grand final brings. Keep an eye on the two full forwards at either end of the ground with both Jessica Tilley kicking 33 goals for the season and Carleen Ryan has been handy up forward for the Red Backs bagging 30 goals this season, this promises to be a great shoot out.
