Yay! MarsCon! So glad me and Avery were able to go. Thanx everyone for being at MarsCon this year , and hoping you all return for next years MarsCon at the Airport Hilton. Bring your friends! Thankyou all who came to my demo Saturday morning. My second time ever hosting a panel :) and I was surprised at how large an audience arrived to watch me turn Avery into The Witch King out of my box of debris. I hope some of you were able to see the helmet later in the silver. Ill be adding the battle-scars at my studio, and sewing a hood from the umbrella flap to finish off the basic costume. Im still learning what fits into an hour, and a little bummed I didnt get to the build-your-own bracers activity I had planned. I spent a little too long talking about my Ori props. Although I did enjoy the direction the hour went, and all the audience inquiries and knowledge sharing. Id like to try another demo next year, of building a costume on the spot from my recycling box. What types of costumes would you enjoy seeing built right before your eyes from upcycled trash? I also still want to demo the upcycled bracers that we didnt get to. And now am back-up panelist for the build-a-mask workshop. So, at the moment, there are a few possibilities of what my project will be next year. And a lot of time between here and next MarsCon to learn new techniques and be inspired! Usually it starts with... I need to make a costume by tomorrow, so something about 24 hours might be a good title for next year :)
