Year 8 visited The Islamic Cultural Centre at Regent’s Park Mosque and The Three Faiths Forum. The visits complemented the Year 8 curriculum where girls are learning about the “Founders and Messengers” of the world’s great faiths. Currently studying about the Prophet Muhammad, the girls were able to see Islam in practice as they visited one of the UK’s most important religious landmarks. They were treated to an in-depth tour of the mosque and were privileged to see examples of Islamic religious works including beautiful copies of the Qur’an. In order to give the girls a wider exposure to different beliefs and ways of life, the girls visited the Three Faiths Forum, based in Kentish Town. Engaged in interactive workshops, they met a Pagan, a Quaker and an Agnostic, each of whom described their beliefs and ways of life. The activities focused on the values of tolerance and diversity, listening and learning from others.
