Year of Inspiration Day 347: I took Maizzy to church today. Thats not as weird as it sounds. There are usually a few dogs there. She got introduced as the new member and we had a ball playing chase in the leaves afterward. Then I bagged almost 10 more bags of leaves from my own yard, about 20 for the weekend, and 40 total. Im not even half done, and temps will be in the 40s next week, sigh. Today was nice, though. I feel a connection to the earth doing fall yard duty. The inspiration was in my mind chatter - it was empowering. Thoughts of laptops, statistics and Capstone dance in my mind. Its been two years since Dad died. When mom died, it was my deciding point to go to nursing school. What is it about loosing a parent that makes me want to invest in myself? Perhaps its a recognition of my own mortality, and to make the most of my time on earth. I love my pets, yet Im also passionate about my career. So many my age here have never known the joy of empowerment that education brings. Ill find my career dogs. Wilson will help. Speaking of Wilson, my new laptop, I found a Wilson decal (yes, from Castaway) and may just have to decorate my computer case with it. Three positives for every negative to broaden and build. Mondays can be a challenge. Like Mr Rogers said, look for the heroes. Make positive connection. Because broadening and building are what lifes all about.
