Years ago I was doing a gig at Maumee Bay State Park and there were ALOT of old people there! Anyway during trivia I introduced the contestants and ask them 2 or 3 quick questions then play the game. This one guy Ill never forget.... I asked him his name then I said: So what do you do? I am retired Army. Me: ohhhh thats cool, we have a real hero here, (to the crowd) thats great, uh?! He responds: nah, the real heros are in the ground. The crowd starts clapping. Me, usually able to have an answer for everything, just looked and have him a nod. I couldnt top that! Most dont need recognition, but I say thanks anyway....
