Years ago, when I was a teenager, there was a song, by the band, Bread, entitled the Diary. It tells the story of a boy who finds a diary and begins reading it. Suddenly he is gripped with passion. The author is in love with him. I found her diary underneath a tree. And started reading about me. The words ...said that she had found the love she waited for. Wouldnt you know it, she wouldnt show it. By the end of the song he came to realize: The words ...meaning now was clear to see. The love shed waited for was someone else not me. Wouldnt you know it, she wouldnt show it. Sadly, he was not the subject of the writing. It was talking of another. This reminds me of the Churchs relation to the Bible. They say that the Bible was written to them. The New Covenant was given to them. That they are the Bride of Messiah. The Church claims Sola Scriptura, that Scripture is the Churchs only infallible and sufficient rule for deciding issues. Well, lets go to the Scriptures and see what it actually says. What advantage, then, is there in being a Jew, or what value is there in circumcision? Much in every way! First of all, the Jews have been entrusted with the very words of Yahweh. (Rom 3:1-2)“You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. (John 4:22)” “The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a Torah giver from between his feet, until Shiloh comes; and to Him shall be the obedience of the people (Genesis 49:10).” “There is one Torah giver (Shiloh-Messiah), who is able to save and to destroy. (James 4:12)” And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an Everlasting Covenant (Psalms 105:10).” “In those days, and in that time, says Yahweh, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together; they shall go on their way weeping, and shall seek Yahweh their Mighty One. They shall inquire concerning Zion with their faces turned toward it, saying, Come you, and join yourselves to Yahweh in an everlasting covenant that shall not be forgotten. My people have been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray; they have turned them away on the mountains; they have gone from mountain to hill; they have forgotten their resting-place. (Jer. 50: 4-6)” The time is coming,’ declares Yahweh, ‘when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah. It will not be like the covenant I made with their forefathers when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they broke My covenant, though I was a husband to them,’ declares Yahweh. This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time,’ declares Yahweh. ‘I will put My law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their Elohim, and they will be My people. No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, Know Yahweh, because they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest,’ declares Yahweh. ‘For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.’ (Jer. 31:31-34) “Go and proclaim in the hearing of Jerusalem: This is what Yahweh says: “I remember the devotion of your youth, how as a bride you loved me and followed me through the wilderness, through a land not sown. (Jeremiah 2:2) I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from Yahweh, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. (Rev 2:2) I know these seems radical if you consider yourself a Christian. Now, as a believer of Messiah, is time to embrace your position in the House of Israel: “Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh--who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands-- that at that time you were without Messiah, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without Yahweh in the world. But now in Messiah YahShua you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Messiah. (Ephesians 2:11-13)” So, the blood buys you the right to choose. Are you in the Kingdom or out? This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love Yahweh your Elohim, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For Yahweh is your life...
