Listen to the siren song of Smoking Pig BBQ. Smoking Pig has a nice, basic, diner-kind of atmosphere, one which perfectly matches the no-frills type of food it serves. The ambience is helped by the blue-grass music providing background for your meal. The ultimate complement to put you into the BBQ mood. I came for a friends birthday lunch and shared a meat combo (with ribs, pulled pork and beef brisket (half lean and half fatty)) and an extra chicken quarter with my girlfriend. We got mac and cheese and collard greens as sides. My impressions? The mac and cheese is amazing - highly flavorful, rich and cheesy, with a hint of smokiness. Divine. On the meat side, the fatty brisket was better than the lean (predictable), and the pulled pork was my favorite. The ribs were amazing as well, but I liked the brisket and pork better (perhaps my own bias - not knocking the ribs). Overall, the meal and the ambience lived up to the aromatic scent that enticed us to enter. Like few things in life, Smoking Pig lives up to the hype. Dont hesitate on it.
