Yes. I EAT paleo. I love food. And while fully aware of all the health benefits of eating a Paleolithic diet, especially those I experience myself, I suffer from cravings of the things that are bad for me. Usually the first response from non-paleo folk is a little wont hurt you! Followed by eat all things in moderation. While both statements seem innocuous, understanding of the gut and the healing process that occurs during compliance to a paleo life is absent from those words. The damage to the gut from grain and sugar and all the grain mimicks have a systemic effect. Yes, a single cheat IS harmful to my gut. Harmful to the gut is harmful to my brain and my joints and.... Some substances need to remain out of my diet for a considerable time. Why would I want to undo improvements to my health which include: No depression Decreased anxiety Better ability to handle stress without adrenal fatigue Better sleep NO HEADACHE Weight loss Increased energy Digestive regulation Clearer skin Thicker, shinier hair Supple nails No more joint pain .... and more. #paleo
