Yes, I know its all about love, but if that was all it was about, we wouldnt be fighting so hard for the right to marry. We would just end it and be happy with makeshift civil unions and no marriage license. Its more than just the love we have for each other. Its about legal protections, financial protections, family protection (if we had kids). healthcare protections, EQUAL protection under the law! And as Judge Bernard Friedman said in his ruling, you cant just legislate us out of existence. Until this is settled, that is what our State Constitution continues to do. This fight is far from over and the commitment we made to each other is extremely important, but it is waaaay more than that. Which is why we wanted to get married in the first place.
