Yesterday, I spoke in the House against efforts to undermine nutrition standards in the FY 2015 Agriculture Appropriations Bill. The bill gives a blanket waiver for schools saying they can’t meet the new, healthier meal standards, and it adds white potatoes to the WIC food package. These changes would hamper our efforts to combat our nation’s obesity crisis and protect the health of our children. I hope these provisions will be removed from the bill before the House brings it to a vote. (Video courtesy C-Span)
