Yesterday, I visited the U.S.-Mexico border with several colleagues where we toured the Hidalgo International Bridge, the McAllen Border Patrol facility, and the the Department of Health and Human Services BCFS Harlingen Children’s Facility. Later in the day, we received a briefing from Border agents and met with officials from the Mexican government to discuss the current situation. If we are to truly solve our border crisis, our system must ensure that our border is safe and secure, and that our processing methods treat people the dignity and respect they deserve.
