Yesterday, Kalonzo ws handed the instruments of office as the Honorary Counsel of Cyprus in Kenya - by the Jubilee government. For the appointment to be formalized, President Uhuru had first to be notified by the leader of Cyprus and give his assent. Had he said no, the intended appointment would have become a cropper and Cyprus government would have had to recommend someone else. (For the benefit of our Corded brothers and sisters, Baba had nothing to do with this appointment). This means that Kalonzo is now the custodian of Cyprus interests in Kenya, mostly commercial interests. For him to be able to execute his mandate, he not only has to work very closely with the Kenya government - read Uhuru and Ruto and all their appointees - he also has to accord maximum respect and recognition to the Kenya government. Without the cooperation of the government, he can do nothing. This is the same person who slightly over a week ago was threatening to turn Kenya into another Southern Suda if Uhuru and Ruto
