Yesterday afternoon I cycled into Edinburgh and the throng of Festival-goers. It was the grand finale of a four-day 210 mile ride from Newcastle to Edinburgh with three cousins and it was wonderful. We paddled in the sea, we pedalled across moorland. We saw England and Scotland in all their autumnal glory and we had fun. I would rather like to show off and claim that I have no ill effects - but the bike and I took different routes down a hill with just 10 miles to go and my shoulder is very sore . The legs are fine though.
