Yesterday an issue came up regarding Mother Goddess and whether or not Barrier/Sentry/Code Gate are considered subtypes. Based on the rulebook, page 8-9, in the Corporation Card Anatomy Key box, (3) is Card type: Subtype. Looking at the cards shown, (3) refers to the parts of the card that say OPERATION: Transaction, AGENDA: Initiative and ICE: Barrier. From this Id say OPERATION, AGENDA and ICE are all card types, whereas Transaction, Initiative and Barrier are all considered subtypes. Thus, if another ice like an Ice Wall is rezzed, Mother Goddess would gain its barrier subtype and can be broken by a fracter breaker. Going further, if we look at the card Chimera, its text says When you rez Chimera, choose sentry, code gate, or barrier. Chimera gains that subtype until derezzed.
