Yesterday the Department of Defense conducted their 65th successful test of the nation’s Ballistic Missile Defense system. During the test a ground based interceptor missile was launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California and successfully intercepted and destroyed a simulated intermediate-range ballistic missile target launched from the U.S. Army’s Reagan Test Site on Kwajalein Atoll in the Republic of the Marshall Islands. Our missile defense system protects our nation, friends, and allies and gives the United States an invaluable tool to deal with the unthinkable.
