Yesterday we spent a rainy Hiroshima day at the Peace Memorial Park and Museum. This space is dedicated to presenting the horrors of the atomic bomb that hit the city on 6 August 1945 (effectively ending the Second World War), and its devastating and extended aftermath. Most importantly, the Park serves as an ongoing plea for nuclear disarmament and world peace. It was a confronting, humbling and enlightening experience, and highly recommended if youre ever in or around Hiroshima.
