Yesterdays #dailysalute Terrifying isnt it? What our lives can do. Eight cops at the local train station Seems all are staring at you. You heard a coughing person And look at them real hard Your train conductor has on One of those masks they use for SARS. Tattoos cover the bodies Of the people on the train The world outside looks grey and bleak When did this city become mundane? There is pain in the voices Of the people on the phone Trying to get their lives together Prove they can do it on their own. Far away a war We started long ago Wages on a group of people We will never know. A soldiers quick to shoot Because hes been down this road before He doesnt hate their race Its his fear that he abhors. A little girl is playing house With her friend next door A little girl that lives in Laos Is drawing on the floor The children matched in innocence Neither knows the others grief Neither knows the others joys Or that they share the same beliefs. The trees are changing colors Death precipitating life The clouds are moving slowly The baker loves his wife The cars are on the highway The neighbor mows his lawn Graffiti in the tunnels The suns prettiest at dawn. Little things we see Each and every day Little things we hide To keep our fears at bay Our world keeps on spinning All through the day and night The world keeps on living Whether or not we end our plight. #letyourloveshine
