Yo, I go back Poland. Actually what I missed in Germany is a proper cheap wine. I will take this opportunity to introduce my non-Polish speaking friends to my favorite parts of a short text about cheap Polish wines known as Jabol - Metaphysics of cheap wine - and hope what one day you will have a chance to experience this. For now, you have this great piece of literature to make you feel what is it all about. Also a nice nostalgic soundtrack for you, fits this text perfectly. (..)In fact, cheap wines are in themselves enough amazing features that would not have to assign them to the (...) misshapen legends. On the other hand, myths deepen metaphysics of a cheap wine making itself and its consumers a kind of les enfants terribles of pleased with itself society of collapsing Western civilization, hiding pathologic rot under the pink frosting. In this aspect, taster of (these) wines is an involuntary rebel. Simple wine is a contact with the true picture of the world, breaking off masks, getting off with an open visor to meet the adventure. As Dugin writes: Other path, Left-hand path, sees everything from a reversed perspective. Not milky peace, but black suffering; not silence but agonizing, fiery drama of a torn life. Cheap wine drunk by a young reactionary in the ruins of an abandoned factory while thinking of Germany and the end of the world (Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio) - is a great and ambiguous deed, symbolic accepting the fate in Jungers understanding of the world. This fate can be diverse, usually tragic and unpleasant. Same as the cheap wine. Sometimes sweetness of wine is so strong that it brings a nausea. Other time one can get a sort which is unspeakably sour, other time one can taste like a modeling glue or bitterness so deep, that irresistibly brings to ones mind bottomless darkness. But it all can and should be defeated- not only with simple force and pushing forward, but also with cunning and experience. Exactly like on a war or during mountain climbing. Every meeting with cheap wine is a smaller or greater encounter. But its an honorable war and a worthy enemy - like a knight serving another lord, like a monumental Himalayan mountain-top. Of course, when we win we feel the satisfaction, but without hate. We dont feel it in the moment of defeat either. Who does not understand, will never get the essence of cheap wines. There are moments in which shout, romantic impulse and myth of activism seem to be pointless due to passive masses and degradation of symbols. (...) Contemplation of ruins and forests, soul-moving music and sad, full of cynical remarks and bitter laugh conversation (maybe with yourself) can be completed with a sip of wine. Its not about big amount, about vulgar intoxication but only about a slight sharpening the mood. Range of tastes and emotions enchanted in a rejected, ridiculed bottle. Of course its a drink for a broad audience but do they understand entirety of its meanings? Simple hobo drinking jabol (cheap fruit wine in Polish) is a king of a cheap wine hyle, using Gnostic terminology. Nay, mass even if drinks, it does it with miserably hidden contempt or even spreading mocking opinions. And if they can afford it - they turn to more expensive brands.
