Yoda Ears Adventure Walk: Hi Josh! Thank you so much for your generous donation. Because of you, Yoda Ears got to stretch her legs and have a great time! Its never an easy task when choosing which dog to take out, but Yoda Ears really spoke to me. While all the other dogs were barking away in their kennels, Yoda sat there with a warm look in her eyes. When I walked up to her kennel her tail started wagging and I knew she was the one for me! I have a soft spot for short girls, and she put the biggest pitty grin on her face when I leashed her up. For a three year old gal she definitely has an old soul. As we drove over to Reedy Creek she sprawled out in the back of my car; this girl was clearly comfortable riding in cars. Once we were parked she waited patiently for me to get her out of the back. There were a few dogs out and Yoda proved to be quite a sweet, friendly gal. She made instant friends with the dogs she greeted and it was quite apparent that she had been properly socialized in the past. In fact, we spent the whole time out with another dog and they were inseparable. I took her down to the Nickel Bridge and as we walked along the access road and she never pulled on the leash. We passed bicyclists and children and other dogs, and each time she never tried to lunge, never barked. All she wanted out of those we passed was some eye contact. She loves some eye contact! It was a beautiful morning and I could tell how happy it made Miss Yoda. Once we reached the bridge she splashed around in the water for a few minutes but was really the most content with receiving human attention. I made sure to give her lots of love! As we walked back east she was glued to Rosies side (her doggy friend) and enjoyed sniffing the plants we walked past. We had some time to hang out at the kayak launch and explored the woods a bit before it was time to head back. On the drive back to the shelter she took a nap, content from our outing and sleepy from all the fun. I know Yoda Ears will make a fantastic addition to any family! She is so sweet and loving, and well behaved to boot! Yoda is available with Richmond Animal Care and Control.
