Yorkshire Tea supports children’s charity cream teas fundraiser A cream tea delivery service run to raise vital funds for children’s charity Action Medical Research is being backed by Yorkshire Tea and Frank Coopers’ jams. Delicious traditional cream tea packages are prepared and hand delivered direct to workplaces by local fundraisers across the UK throughout the summer months. For a £5 donation, customers receive a wrapped tea bag, two scones, Rodda’s clotted cream and jam, all boxed with a knife and serviette ready to enjoy in their tea break. Alternatively, companies can support the charity by ordering a direct delivery via Royal Mail for £6.50. Yorkshire Tea is supporting the service by donating tea bags and Frank Coopers’ are supplying mini jars of its strawberry jam. David Graham, Head of Community and Events Fundraising at Action Medical Research, says: “Our successful cream tea delivery service has been growing over recent years and is an important annual fundraising exercise for many of our volunteers. We aim to deliver up to 5,000 teas this year and supplier support is vital to allow us to raise as much money as possible to fund life-changing medical research to help sick babies and children. We also want to ensure we have the best possible brands linked to our delivery service, so we are thrilled to have the support of Yorkshire Tea and Frank Coopers’.” “Today in the UK, there are hundreds of thousands of sick and disabled children who need help. Research is the key to saving many of these children from a lifetime of suffering. We rely entirely on voluntary donations, so we cannot fund new medical breakthroughs without the support of our dedicated volunteers and corporate partners.” The charity is currently funding research into many conditions, including preventing early labour and developing treatments for babies affected by premature birth, helping children with disabilities and tackling rare diseases for which there are currently no cures.
