You Are Invited … MUNICIPAL COMPREHENSIVE PLAN KICKOFF EVENT MAY 27, 2014 The Joint Planning Commission representing Avalon, Bellevue and Ben Avon, is pleased to announce the added participation of Kilbuck Township and Ben Avon Heights Borough in creating a new shared Comprehensive Plan that will present a unified, locally-driven vision for our future, and strategies for realizing that vision. Residents, property owners, businesses, educators, municipal officials, civic leaders and others will join their voices and efforts in the coming months, along with a professional community planning consultant, to come up with a collaborative plan aiming to: • Maintain and enhance the many wonderful characteristics that distinguish our communities, • Improve the overall physical, social and economic outlook of the region, • Combat those forces that gradually lead to erosion of civic character and decline in general quality of life, • Enhance the reputation of our neighborhoods as desirable destinations for businesses, families and visitors. Anyone with a vested interest in the outcome of this plan is invited to participate in its framing. A variety of volunteer opportunities are available, whether in hands-on direction and decision-making, overall guidance and focused advice, information-gathering and grassroots feedback, or outreach and interface with other like-minded groups and efforts.
