You all may remember last year during storm season, we opened up - TopicsExpress

You all may remember last year during storm season, we opened up the basement under the Peddlers Post for people to go to for shelter (as it seems more important for our city leaders to buy extra buildings and such--PS remember we have an election coming up--than to operate a storm shelter). Dozens of people came by and weathered the storms with us. Im proud of the fact that we at the Peddlers Post had the chance to take a stand and do the right thing. I would LOVE to announce that we are able to offer shelter during tornados this year, as many of you do not have places to go if theres a storm. Alas, I am unable to make that announcement this year that we have a shelter. For insurance purposes, my agent has specifically told me that I cannot offer a PUBLIC shelter to people. I completely understand why, and intend to comply completely with that. However, as a caveat to that, since we DO have a basement, and when we ARE open for business during a storm, it would be completely acceptable to offer shelter to customers who are in the store shopping. So, if you are in the store to look around for a new cell phone charger during business hours and a tornado siren goes off, you are welcome to go down to the basement (NOT A SHELTER!). Remember: if you are shopping and during BUSINESS hours. Thank you for shopping with us :-) Starting today, our new summer hours are 9 to 7 Monday thru Saturday, 11 to 5 on Sunday and any time tornado sirens are on. If the lights are on, we are open! PS Well leave the lights on for ya.
