You are always perpetuating conflict, opposition and unhappiness. If you reject anything because you don’t like it, you just compound the problem. So, are you starting to feel more hopeless? It is actually hopeless, and I’m not saying it just to scare you or make a joke. It’s actually hopeless, and nothing can be done about it. The moment you want to do something, there it is, the rejection itself. It’s very deep, very subtle. It operates on all levels and all places in your mind and in your being. I’m talking about this today because there has been an attitude growing in this group as a result of the efficiency of this work, an attitude of acquisitiveness, an attitude of collecting, achieving, of attaining, which is exactly what we’re talking about. Without the correct understanding, the work itself can backfire and start strengthening your personality instead of bringing freedom from the personality. At the present time, most of you are not able to disengage from the activity of attainment. And, as I’ve said, there is nothing you can do about it. It’s hopeless.
