The girl had sought shelter in Dar ul Aman with the support of Police as she feared of being killed by her father in the pretext of honor. Police and human rights groups are still apprehensive of threat to her life, hence this article is a “shout-for-help” to keep the entire civil society vigilant to watch the Jamali family, and compel Shaheed Benazir Abad Police to maximize its surveillance on the family, & stay alert; the case requires public eye till the well-being of the girl is fully ensured. This article also throws brief light on the findings of a research on the cases of so called ‘honor killings’ took place in Sindh in 2012 (the research is conducted by the Centre for Peace and Civil Society); here is a quick view of the women killed last year under the ruthless ploy: Shikarpur 44; Kasmhore 37; Jacobabad 25; Khairpur 20; Ghotki 19; Larkano 18; Sakhar 25; Sheheed Benazir Abad 10; Sanghar 6; Hyderabad 5; Dadu 4; Mirpurkhas, Naushehro Feroz, Thatto and Karachi 3; Badin & Matiyari 2; Tharparkar 1.
