You dont need me to tell you what the big weather story in the United States is. You likely already know. A #blizzard is setting its eyes for the New York City to New Haven to Providence to Boston to Portland, Maine corridor. Its been deemed the #blizzardof2015. The Weather Channel has called it Winter Storm #Juno. The attached graphic shows the probability of a given location receiving a foot or more of snow during the next 48 hours (by Wed morning). The worst of the storm will be found over Long Island, Connecticut, Rhode Island, eastern Massachusetts, coastal New Hampshire, and into the mid-coast of Maine. With a blizzard comes not only snow but plenty of wind. The second graphic shows a snapshot in time - max wind gusts on Tuesday morning. VERY strong easterly and northeasterly winds blowing onshore across Long island and nearly all of southern New England. Peak wind gusts will top out around 50 to 70 mph for these areas. The storm really ramps up Monday night and continues through all of Tuesday. Stay safe everyone!
